By Roger de Piles. See BN

Etched t.p. vignette and 9 in-text ill. The 20 numbered plates are those by Corneille. The [32] unnumbered plates are etchings by Sébastien Leclerc, the 1st of which bears title: Figures d'academie pour aprendre à désiner, grauées par Sebastien LeClerc (A Paris Chez N. Langlois, rue St. Jacques à la Victoire). They were produced around 1665 and appeared previously with Charles-Alphonse Du Fresnoy's L'art de peinture, translated by Roger de Piles (Paris : Nicolas Langlois, 1673). See BN
